Over the past 10 years, Matt has appeared in over 100 jury trials in Queensland (including homicides, large frauds, sexual offences and assaults), two High Court appeals lead by Senior Counsel and over 20 cases in the Court of Appeal.

Outside of criminal law, he was involved in the DNA inquiry as counsel assisting the Queensland Police and has experience in the fields of administrative law and domestic violence.

Since his admission as a lawyer in 2008, Matt has always welcomed the opportunity to share his experience and knowledge. He is on the Bar Association mentor program to provide support for barristers in the early years at the bar, judges mock hearings run by the Bar Association and has delivered papers and seminars along with members of the judiciary. He is regularly briefed to provide advice on strategic decisions that need to be made in complex cases.
