Damien Gates
Damien has experience in criminal justice since 1991 and was called to the bar in 2014. He regularly appears in all jurisdictions including the Mental Health Court, Court of Appeal, QCAT and the CCC.
Damien is briefed regularly for the defence and also for the prosecution for State and Commonwealth matters including, but not limited to, criminal, transportation and workplace health and safety law matters. He has appeared on applications in relation to parole under the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (Qld), Protected Counselling Communications and also domestic violence matters.
Damien has also developed a particular interest in Administrative Law, and the work of the Coroner’s Court and other commissions of inquiry.
